Civilian Defense Concepts, LLC periodically offers classes and training events at KFGA. Courses are available to KFGA Members and their Families and taught by Dave Chang, Lead firearms instructor; Sig Sauer Academy Certified Semi-Auto Pistol Instructor, also a graduate of the Sig Sauer Academy for Pistol Mounted Red Dot Optics
Pistol Red Dot 101 - June 18, 08:00-12:00
New to the pistol mounted red dot world? Have a red dot mounted on your handgun but having trouble consistently finding the dot? Want to get better and faster at finding the dot? This is the class for you! Learn techniques, developed by the Sig Sauer Academy, which are taught to military and law enforcement personnel worldwide. Topics covered include (but are not limited to): dot selection, maintenance, red dot zero, Parallax, body positioning, grip, and head position and its impact on finding the dot. This is a shooting course and approximately 300 rounds is recommended. HOWEVER, bring what you can afford to shoot. The techniques and the knowledge that you will gain are what is most important, not making the gun go "bang". A basic understanding of coming out of a holster is a plus. If you do not have a holster, a table will be provided for you to work from.
Equipment required: Firearm, functioning red dot, magazines, ammo, eye and ear protection, and a brimmed hat. Approx. 200 rounds. Max capacity 10 shooters. Pay and reserve here

Pistol Red Dot 102 - July 9, 0800-1200
Want to get better with your pistol mounted optic (red dot)? Learn techniques, developed by the Sig Sauer Academy, which are taught to military and law enforcement personnel worldwide. Building on what you learned in PRD101, we will continue to work body positioning, grip, and head position and its impact on finding the dot. We will work on consistent presentation (whether from holster or not) and speed. We will be working on malfunction clearance techniques utilizing the red dot. This is a shooting course and approximately 200 rounds is recommended. HOWEVER, bring what you can afford to shoot. Attendance in 101 is not required but highly recommended. The techniques and the knowledge that you will gain are what is most important, not making the gun go ""bang"". A basic understanding of coming out of a holster is a plus. If you do not have a holster, a table will be provided for you to work from.

Pistol Red Dot 103 - August 20, 0800-1200
Building on what you learned in PRD102, we will continue to work body positioning, grip, and head position and its impact on finding the dot. We will work on consistent presentation (whether from holster or not) and speed. We will continue to work on downed optic drills. We will also begin to incorporate incapacitated shooter techniques and drills. This is a shooting course and approximately 200-300 rounds is recommended. HOWEVER, bring what you can afford to shoot. The techniques and the knowledge that you will gain are what is most important, not making the gun go ""bang"". A basic understanding of coming out of a holster is a plus. If you do not have a holster, a table will be provided for you to work from. Attendance in 102 is not required, but HIGHLY recommended.

CPR First Aid AED Certification Class - September 3, 2022 0800-1200pm
Learn basic wound and injury care and basic CPR and Rescue breathing skills. Learn how to operate an AED and receive a 2-year certification from the American Safety and Health Institute (ASHI). Includes hands on training. Note: this certification is recognized by OSHA. Taught by American Safety and Health Institute Faculty member and AHA Instructor Dave Chang.

Advanced Bleeding Control Certification - September 3, 2022 12:30 PM to 02:30 PM
Learn lifesaving skills designed to address traumatic bleeding wounds. Learn how to correctly use tools such as compression dressings, tourniquets, and hemostatic dressings. This class is a must for anyone involved in the shooting sports and for anyone who wants to be prepared to assist in any event where traumatic injuries may occur. Certification is good for 2 years (through the American Safety and Health Institute). Includes hands on training. Taught by ASHI Faculty member and AHA instructor, Dave Chang. Limit 10 participants. Pistol Red Dot 104 - September 24, 0800-1200
Want to run your Red Dot Pistol better than anyone you know? This is the class for you. Learn techniques, developed by the Sig Sauer Academy, which are taught to military and law enforcement personnel worldwide. Building on what you learned in PRD103, we will continue to work body positioning, grip, and head position and its impact on finding the dot. We will continue to work on consistent presentation (whether from holster or not) and speed. We will continue to work on downed optic drills and incapacitated shooter drills. We will also begin to incorporate non-traditional platform shooting drills and malfunction drills. This is a shooting course and approximately 300 rounds is recommended. HOWEVER, bring what you can afford to shoot. The techniques and the knowledge that you will gain are what is most important, not making the gun go "bang". A basic understanding of coming out of a holster is a plus. If you do not have a holster, a table will be provided for you to work from. Attendance in 103 is not required but HIGHLY recommended.
